About the project
TUI, is a global business with over 70 000 people on board, great history and challenging plans for building a digital future. TUI is the largest leisure, travel and tourism company globally, and it owns travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and retail shops.
As an Performance QA Engineer, you will join a cross-functional team dedicated to building seamless software solutions for our customers. With a passion for quality, you will collaborate effectively with your team to deliver exceptional solutions that meet customer needs. You will take full ownership of applications throughout their lifecycle, from design through to operation.

• Design, execute, and automate performance tests that ensure the scalability, stability, and reliability of modern web applications
• Identify and clarify performance related requirements
• You’ll work closely with developers, QA, DevOps, and product teams to identify performance bottlenecks, deliver insights, and continuously improve system behavior under load

• 3+ years in performance testing/engineering
• Hands-on with Gatling (Scala or Java DSL) and Gatling Cloud Enterprise (simulations, cloud executions, dashboards, integrations)
• Skilled in custom Gatling scenarios (feeders, checks, injection profiles)
• Solid knowledge of HTTP, REST APIs, WebSockets, and microservices
• Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Familiar with tools like Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, or DataDog
• Understanding of cloud-based test environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), secure testing practices (API tokens, SSL), and staging setups (VPNs, reverse proxies)
• Upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English

Nice to have:

• Experience creating custom Gatling plugins or integrating Gatling with tools like InfluxDB, ElasticSearch, or Xray

• Understanding of SLA/SLO definitions and performance budgeting

• Familiarity with API mocking or stubbing during early test phases

• Background in high-load environments such as e-commerce, finance, or large-scale B2B platforms
