The Role:


Pwrteams is currently looking to hire a Junior PMO Business Analyst for our partner News UK, Technology. News UK’s newspapers are some of the most powerful media brands in the English speaking world, reaching 30 million people each week. They are very different products with different values and different strengths, but all are united by a commitment to independent journalism.

 

You will be joining the PMO team - the information hub for products, projects and programmes within News UK Technology. You’ll work across the diverse portfolio of media brands and will support all technology and digital projects currently in flight. You will be happy to get stuck into project administration as well as work with project teams, finance managers and contractor agencies to enable digital products to deliver efficiently and on budget. PMO or IT experience would be helpful but not required, as there will be on the job training offered.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and maintain the Tech PMO mailbox and Slack channel, ensuring all questions are answered and or escalated to the right person. Raise tickets on the call logging system for any outstanding queries and follow up with the person responsible to ensure the customer is satisfied with the fix.
  • Monitor the Purchase Order and Vendor database. Ensure any queries are logged in the call system or escalated to the appropriate person. Chase up any contract renewals for licences.
  • Raise any purchase orders that may be requested, ensuring these are good received at the right time and Accounts payable are informed.
  • Support the contractor process by chasing for user credentials, work with the Service desk to ensure login credentials for key applications are provided in a timely manner.
  • Produce management reports, continuously monitoring effectiveness and adapting to suit changing requirements
  • Assist the 3rd party teams in testing the various applications within tech
  • Assist in the laptop ordering process working with SLT to ensure the databases are up to date and the right equipment has been ordered.
  • Ensure documentation meets the necessary standards, benefits are identified and tracked, relevant parties have been engaged and the necessary approvals are given before the project proceeds
  • Provide suitable delivery reporting to projects and programmes as required
  • Utilise the suite of delivery tools becoming fluent with use
  • Maintain and improve current governance processes
  • Provide visibility and information on programme and portfolio tracking
  • Support the PMO SLT as required

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

  • We are looking for a person who is willing to learn and take on new challenges with a can do attitude
  • We are looking for someone with excellent team-working and good communication skills, who is able to work to a deadline
  • You have good attention to detail, you’ll be running reports, collating and verifying information and working with financial systems
  • You have a good understanding of Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • You are organised and able to plan effectively
  • You’ll enjoy getting down into the detail, spotting ways to improve our systems, outputs and quality of information
  • You will be comfortable talking to both technologists and business stakeholders providing them with accurate and timely information and support. You can pull information together and share with others
  • Able to create key reports for management reporting purposes
