3D Generalist

The Role: Pwrteams currently looking to hire a 3D Generalist for a large multinational company in Consumer Electronics to join our eTail Innovation team, participate in the optimization of our processes and collaborate effectively with external design agencies and internal stakeholders.

As a 3D Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in the creation and optimization of 3D files derived from STP (CAD) files. You will work closely with product managers, and external design agencies to ensure the highest quality of 3D models.

Your primary focus will be on converting, optimizing, and refining 3D models, with some project management responsibilities to streamline workflows and manage timelines.

What You'll Do:

3D Modeling and File Creation:

• Convert and optimize STP (CAD) files into high-quality 3D models for Augmented Reality and WebAR
• Ensure models meet performance and quality standards
• Collaborate with the external design agency to refine and enhance 3D models

Workflow and Process Management:

• Assist in managing project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful completion of 3D modeling projects
• Coordinate with internal teams and external design agencies to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration
• Identify and help resolve any workflow bottlenecks or process inefficiencies

Process Optimization:

• Evaluate and enhance existing workflows and processes to improve efficiency and output quality
• Implement best practices for 3D modeling and file creation
• Provide technical support and training to internal teams as needed
• Continuously research and implement new techniques and technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of production
• Maintain an organized workflow and ensure assets are easily accessible and reusable for future projects

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in 3D modeling and file creation
• Experience working in a consumer electronics or related industry is a plus

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (Blender, Maya)
• Proficiency in CAD software and file conversion (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Strong understanding of file formats and optimization techniques
• Strong modeling and texturing capabilities
• Utilize Substance Painter for texture creation and enhancement
• Work with rendering engines such as Vray, Arnold, or Cycles to produce photorealistic renders would be considered an advantage

Project Management Skills:

• Basic project management experience, ideally in a technical or creative environment
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders

Other Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality digital content
• A strong online portfolio demonstrating your 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to take constructive feedback
